Gambling on Horse Races

The most famous form of gambling in Japan particularly for Tokyo is gambling on horse races. The most common horse races are between standard bred horses or thorough bred horses. The wagers in these horse races usually takes place in pools called pari-mutuel pools and the bookmakers could also take the bets of the players personally.

The wagers called Parimutuel wages commonly pay off at the prices set with the support from the pools that are wagering. The bookmakers on the other hand pay off through the odds being offered at the time of the player's acceptance of the bet. A bookmaker could also pay off through the median odds which were offered at the start of the race.
